So most if not all of us on the board have seen 'Sleepaway Camp' by now, the original film. and We all know how it ends... ;D. So I figured I'd pose this question to the board. Feel free to discuss it as well as vote btw. Does the shocking ending to 'Sleepaway Camp' still shock you as much as it did the first time you saw it?Or has that shock effect worn thin and become nonexistent over the repeated viewings of the film? It still grosses me out somewhat. I mean as a dude, seeing things like that will always get a few grimaces out of me.

I remember the first time I saw SLEEPAWAY CAMP. After having seen the sequels numerous times each, I still needed the beginning of the story. They released them on DVD finally and I saw and thought the movie was eh, not as entertaining as the sequels but when it got to the end...and Angela stands up...and the camera just kinda stays there for a while... ...I was thoroughly freaked out for the rest of my life. I rewound it and watched it again to make sure I really had seen what I thought I saw...I went to bed that with that image in my mind... Yeah, that still definitely has the power to shock, but most of all the first time around.

I've only seen the original film about 3 times, so maybe after a few more viewings in my life time, my opinion will change. But for now, that scene still freaks and grosses me out to no end. ;D

It doesn't affect me now because I turn my head when that scene comes on.

Doesn't bother me as much because I know it's coming late in the movie. It always wigs them out when I watch it with someone for the first time though.

My friend had nightmares after watching the ending. It doesn't shock me, but I still find the ending interesting. I'll admit it's a lot better than A Reflection of Fear.

I was incredulous when I first saw it, I love the sleepaway camp films, isn't there another one being made? I voted for sort of thing that always shocks....

"return to sleepaway camp", "sleepaway camp reunion", and "sleepaway camp berserk". The first one has been done for like 2 years now, but for some reason they can't seem to find a distributor for it.

The ending to "sleepaway camp" definitely still shocks the hell out of me! I always think it will end differently when I watch it though so maybe that's why. It's a mental thing I have.
