Not much has come out on filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola's upcoming horror/thriller "Twixt Now And Sunrise", which stars Val Kilmer as a horror novelist. Alongside Elle Fanning, and Bruce Dern. But the filmmaker recently blurbed to Empire about the film, revealing some small details. "It's part personal film, part Gothic romance, part Halloween show," he says. "If I can present it the way I want to, it is something that's never been done before." The movie was shot last year in Napa California. It'll most likely see a release later this year, or in 2012.

Filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman chatted recently with Thisweekin, and with "Mother's Day" and "11-11-11" both due out this year...the man is still not slowing down anytime soon. In fact, he updated TWI on another horror/thriller he's got in the chute, "Ninety"...which involves a serial killer who plans to kill 90 people in 90 minutes! About the movie, Bousman explains..."It's psychotic and it's crazy. I wanted to do a movie that's fun. 'Repo!' was fun, and I think that translated well into the movie. '11-11-11' and 'Mother's Day' are not fun movies. 'Ninety' is fun. It's 90 kills in 90 minutes. Done. Sold. Buy my ticket. We're talking unique kills, too; it's not like I just put ninety people in a room and dropped a bomb. The script is from Scott Milam, who also wrote 'Mother's Day.' It's a cross between 'Natural Born Killers,' 'True Romance,' and something a little more lighthearted."
He then goes on to reveal that he plans to make "Ninety"s killer more of an anti-hero that the audience can cheer for at times. "When you're going to kill ninety people in a movie, after a while it could become monotonous. You'll feel like, "Okay, I've seen this. I'm done," he explains. "To combat that, we're going out of our way to make our killer cool and badass, like Mickey and Mallory were in 'NBK.' You'll see the movie and just want to be the killer. Obviously we don't want anyone to ever emulate being a killer as obviously that's wrong, but we made sure our guy is just very likable. There's two times that you'll even want to high-five him." Bousman then went on to tease some more forthcoming works, including a mystery horror film which could get the greenlight at any second, and a monster movie!
"I'll be shooting a little surprise between '11-11-11' and the next thing. I've also sold another horror film that I've written that we may fast-track and move quickly into," he reveals. "It's a monster movie. Another kind of exploratory thing that I'd like to do." Interesting. Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more from Darren in the near future. Meantime, look for "Mother's Day" later this year, and "11-11-11" on November 11th of this year.

Due out on the 22nd of June of next year, is Timur Bekmambetov's "Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter"! A film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's mashup novel. The pic is currently shooting in NOLA (New Orleans), and pictured below is one of two first ever stills to emerge from the set, of the upcoming movie. The image comes our way via onlocation vocations, and you can view the other still Here. "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" stars Robin McLeavy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson, and Scoot McNairy. In the film...when Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the "milk sickness." Only later did he learn that his mother's deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln's father.
When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln. Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln's life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don't know Abe. Honest.

We reported a few days ago, that the film adaptation of the Max Brooks novel, "World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War"...was in danger of being droped by Paramount, should they not be able to find any co-financing for the project. Well now, Deadline is reporting that Paramount has been approached by multiple partners, interested in co-financing the film, which has Brad Pitt attached to star, and Marc Forster set to direct. So it looks like this film will happen...for now atleast. "World War Z" would follow the aftermath of a war aimed at humans who were infected with a deadly virus, died, and then returned as the living dead.

Today, we were passed along first plot details on the forthcoming "Piranha 3D" sequel "Piranha 3DD", which is due out November 23rd! The sequel will see the vicious, flesh-eating fishes migrating into the center of a newly-opened waterpark called "Wilderness Waters"! Of course once they're there, they continue their blood-drenched feeding frenzy. Of course, someone will save the day...or atleast try to. But currently, because the film is in it's early stages, we're not sure as of yet if that someone will consist of any "Piranha 3D" survivors. Or if a whole new group of characters will be in play this time around. Probably as "Wilderness Waters" patrons and or employees. We'll be sure to keep you guys posted!
