I watched "Prom Night" today after seeing it the first time when I was 12 yrs old. This movie is boring, and I hate to say that since so many people value it as a classic. But nothing happens for like most of the movie, cept a few slow moving deaths. The only exciting moments come at the end when the dude with the axe shows up at the prom.
Part 2 "Hello Mary Lou" was way better because Mary Lou was wicked cool and alot of deaths happened. Plus that creepy ass horse she had in her room. #scared0002#

I prefer "Prom Night" over the sequel actually. It's a slow paced slasher but the 80's feel to it gives it a likeable edge. The sequel went supernatural and that was a bad move because it totally negated the original "Prom Night".

"Prom Night" is a good film but honestly it moves at such a snails pace that it's the type of movie you can watch once and be satisfied with. It's not a regular you can pop in the VHS or dvd player when you've got some time on your hands. Maybe for some people it is, but most people I know who have seen it, feel the same way I do, if you've seen it once that's good enough. It just moves too slow to be very much enjoyable.

I never liked "PROM NIGHT" and I don't know why so many other people do. It had a weak story and an even weaker killer.

'Prom Night' was watchable because of Jamie Lee Curtis. She carried what was otherwise a boring and lackluster horror film up until the final act where it finally became interesting. It gets preferrential treatment mostly because JLC is in it.

"Prom Night 2" owns "Prom Night". Jamie Lee Curtis couldn't save "Prom Night", the movie was just plain boring.

I didn't like either of the Prom Night's really, except for that one where that crazy ass resurrected priest terrorizes that couple. That was part 4 I think.

Tsk Tsk Ghost, no appreciation for the classics. "Prom Night" was a good film and it actually made you think, which is something slasher movies don't do or avoid doing all together. For the record, "Prom Night 4" was the worst film of the series ahead of "Prom Night 3 The Last Kiss".

'Prom Night' was an okay slasher movie with a throwback vibe but it pales in comparison to most other slashers of it's time.

"Prom Night" was one of the worst slasher I've seen. Yet somehow it's gained classic status. The movie was uninteresting in it's story and the suspense was totally nonexistent. The deaths were scarce, this wasn't a slasher movie.
