I didn't like either of the Prom Night's really, except for that one where that crazy ass resurrected priest terrorizes that couple. That was part 4 I think. "Prom Night 4:Deliver Us From Evil" was the best sequel in the series after "Prom Night 2". They should've started the series based on Father Jonas, maybe it would've turned out better than it did.

One of the greatest classics? HELL NO! "Prom Night" was horrible. It was badly made, boring, there was no suspense, there were hardly any killings as far as I can remember, it was just BAD. I saw this great "classic" and instantly shoved it out of my mind. I don't know how it's gained so much popularity.

Because it was Jamie Lee Curtis's first horror film which ultimately launched her into "Halloween" and so on. Without her in it it probably would not be as highly regarded as it is.

I actually thought "Prom Night 4" was the worst sequel of the series, even worse than part 3 "The Last Kiss".

"Prom Night" was one of the worst slasher I've seen. Yet somehow it's gained classic status. The movie was uninteresting in it's story and the suspense was totally nonexistent. The deaths were scarce, this wasn't a slasher movie. "Prom Night" wasn't about throwing blood and gore up on the screen and calling it a horror film. It tried to tell a story more than anything. An artform which is lost on alot of slasher flicks these days.

'prom night' had good performances but was far from great. It's quite over rated in most circles because of it's cast.

I agree, they teased 90% of the killings but only delivered on about 10% or less of them. It kind of reminded me of a "what if?" situation where John Carpenter's Halloween would have had Michael Myers watching all of his victims, Annie, Lynda, Laurie, and his sister Judith...but after the movie was all over...he had just killed one of them and the whole film would've been a big waste of time.
