Despite being a full 11 months and some days away from its theatrical release. Paramount is still planning apparently, on giving "World War Z" the franchise tag. By turning it into a trilogy! This, according to theplaylist. "WWZ" is based off of the Max Brooks novel. And stars Brad Pitt as United Nations employee Gerry Lane, who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Marc Forster directs, and apparently he and Paramount sees franchise potential in the movie! With reports that both parties..."each view 'World War Z' as a trilogy that would have the grounded, gun-metal realism of, say, Damon's Jason Bourne series tethered to the unsettling end-times vibe of AMC's 'The Walking Dead.'" That remains to be seen, but it'll be interesting to see if any of this comes to fruition in the near future. In the end however, everything will depend on how "World War Z" does at the box office next Winter. Mireille Enos, Anthony Mackie, James Badge Dale, Ed Harris, Alicia Vikander, Bryan Cranston, and Matthew Fox also star in the film. That officially opens in theaters December 21st of this year.
