Rather than getting another sequel in the "Leprechaun" franchise. Filmmaker Drew Daywalt will be directing a new killer-Irish-elf flick for SyFy Channel called "Red Clover". The pic, which was originally entitled "St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun" (rolls eyes)...will star Billy Zane, William Devane, Kelly Washington, Courtney Halverson, Glen Warner, Azure Parsons, Matty Ferarro, and Kevin Mangold. In the film...an evil leprechaun who's been imprisoned within the roots of a majestic old oak tree, is accidentally set loose on St. Patrick's Day. Once free, he takes out his bloody revenge on the descendants of the people who originally imprisoned him. Ironically enough, this sounds a lot like "Leprechaun 2". In which the Leprechaun was residing beneath a huge tree in a local park. Now whether or not that tree was oak, damned if I know. I'm no Arborist. Anthony C. Ferrante penned "Red Clover" by the way. Ferrante also penned "BOO", "Headless Horseman", "House Of Bones", and "Scream Of The Banshee". So yeah, he's not new at this.
