"Boys Don't Cry" helmer Kimberly Peirce, is reported close to inking a deal to direct MGM's upcoming remake of Stephen King's horror classic "Carrie". This, reports Deadline. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa penned the script for the remake, which follows a teenager with telekenetic powers who is bullied and mercilessly harassed by her classmates. Eventually, things come to a fatal-head when she's pushed too far at the school prom. Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan have both expressed interest in playing the new Carrie. One, (which pretty much means me)...can only hope that if it's a choice between just those 2, that Fox gets the role. By the way, Sony Screen Gems is also involved in the making of this picture. After their dreadful genre films "The Roommate" and "Prom Night". Which both kind of fit the "Carrie"esque mold, we can only pray they don't muck this one up.
