Maybe back in the early 2000's this would've been a good idea. But with the current mold that the vampire subgenre is operating in? I'd prepare for the worst. Anyhow, Deadline reports that NBC is fast-tracking a new "Dracula" TV series! Hoping to get it on air by as early as 2013! The series, set to be produced/exec produced by Tony Krantz and Colin Callender, and penned by scribe Cole Haddon...is being prepped for the stateside and international markets respectively. With NBC (U.S.), and NBCU (international). Both involved. The series has already garned a "script-to-series" commitment. Meaning it would bypass a potential pilot stage, and go straight to becoming an NBC regular, episodic weekly series. The show would reportedly be set in the 1890s. And is being billed as..."Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors" and as a big, sweeping international soap opera that is young, sexy and supernatural." Reece Pearson would also act as co-executive producer on the show. And yet, we couldn't even get "Locke and Key"s pilot onto the boob tube for one night? Un-real.
