This being my first post on the sequel board, what better sequel to start a topic about than to one of the best indie horrors in awhile,May.May starts off as a psychological black comedy/drama but slowly evolves into a horror film, especially near the end.Bettis nails the role of the anorexic, pale looking outcast named May.The film ends on an odd note with the whole *creation* that May put together with what she saw as the best parts of those she knew. Was the creation alive?Or did she imagine it to be real? What ever became of May after the murders?Whatever way you look at it,this movie needs a sequel to answer all of those questions.

I don't think "May" was intended to have a sequel. I think it was just meant to be a story about a lonely and disturbed young girl, which would be told and pretty much wrapped up with a twisted yet fitting end.Theres really nothing left to explain or settle. I think the viewer is left to make up his or her own mind about what happened to May.You can choose to believe that she lived happily ever after with her new *friend*,or the cops uncovered the murders, busted her for them, and she spends the rest of her life in a looney bin or prison. The choice is up to you the viewer.

Come on horror. With an ending like that you can't tell me you aren't the least bit hopeful a sequel comes along some day? I sure as hell would want one.Theres a lot of shit that remains unsettled. The murders for one.She left behind 3 mutilated bodies,4 if you count the punk rock kid,and god knows what she did with the rest of him. When stuff like that goes down in one of those nice suburban neighborhoods, you know the cops will investigate.

I fit in between on this topic.I wouldn't mind a sequel, just to see the aftermath of the events in 'May'. But I wouldn't be really pissed or anything if they didn't do one.

"May" needs a sequel. It's one of the few films that told a great story while doing it all horrificly. It needs a sequel more than most horror films nowadays do. May is an interesting character and I'd like to know what became of her after what happened.

I like I'm sure most people who saw "May",wouldn't mind if a sequel was done. But do I think a sequel is absolutely positively necessary? No I don't.

'May' was stupid in my estimation. It didn't make much sense.First shes in love with Jeremy Sistos character and then later on shes killing people.Like the guy who she brought home and he saw the dead glad wrapped cat in the freezer. He called her a freak and she proceeded to stab him with a pair of scissors. How was he supposed to react after seeing a dead cat in someones freezer? I would've called her a freak too and then ran like hell. Not to mention her female co-worker who she cut with the scalpel should've seen Mays disturbing behavior as a sign she was nutty when she was puncturing her finger with that scalpel.

The point of "May" was that Angela Bettises character was an odd, weird, and shy girl. When she finally began to open up,she was scorned by the guy she had a crush on,albeit partially her fault for taking a chunk out of his lip.The guy who refused to be her friend after spotting the dead frozen cat just shattered her already fragile feelings, seeing as how he was cool with her just a few moments earlier.

NO DON'T SEQUELIZE MAY! MAY is one of the best real horror movies ever made! It examined the horror of the human psyche and how people can just snap due to bad social experiences. Creating a sequel to a piece of work like this would be a cardinal sin!

Creating a sequel to a piece of work like this would be a cardinal sin! But thats exactly why it needs a sequel! May was a very interesting character, one of the most interesting on screen characters in awhile even. Inquiring minds want to know what happened to her after part 1.
