Christians and Baptists aren't so far apart in the religious slate.

Okay... Ideas aren't enough to make a horror movie worth making today. The filmmakers need to learn about style and substance first.
That's one thing. For another, there should never have been a Carrie 2. Carrie (1976) is one of the rarest masterpieces in the horror genre to be made in the contemporary era in horror. It's a perfect horror film. The sequel was a stupid teen-horror movie that did not work. Then, they remade it. Hasn't there been enough insult and injury done to the 1976 film???
Carrie 3 would not only be a bad idea, but it's one of the worst ideas I've heard today.

In defense though JAHF, Carrie is one of the few horror series that hasn't worn out it's welcome yet. Most people will tell ya, sick of "Halloween", sick of Jason, sick of "Children Of The Corn". Rarely if at all, is anyone online ranting about too many "Carrie" movies.

That doesn't mean anything. You can't really compare Carrie to "the Carrie movies" to come out afterward. Carrie is one movie. There are no "Carrie movies." Just garbage that should have never been made.
People need to separate the classic from the crap. How are we ever going to get anymore good horror movies if we just toss cheap garbage in with ambitious, excellent classic horror films?

Both "Carrie" movies are so popular because of their themes. The outcast gets sweet revenge. It really taps into our society over the last ten years with Columbine, V-tech, etc. People, for betetr or worse, bad movie or good movie....love a revenge horror film where the pricks and the cunts and all the others get what's coming to them. That's one of the major reasons "I Spit On Your Grave" rose to fame. It came out during a time where alot of women were into the whole feminist thing.

The A-typical revenge fantasy has been an american staple for centuries.
