A slasher film from the 80s that was way ahead of it's time. The film is about a girl named Virginia who is a part of a group of private school kids. But these aren't just any group of kids, they're the most popular kids in school, the "elite",if you will. But right around her 18th birthday, her friends start getting murdered in bizarre ways.Everyone outside the group is a suspect, even Virginia, since she suffers blackouts due to an accident that occured a year earlier. This movie was smarter than most recent slasher movies, and had some very creative deaths. Ironically enough, this film hasn't been nailed for a remake yet,and you really have to wonder what happened to the cast because after this movie their careers never took off. Those of you who've sene this movie, whats your take on it?

This movie is one of the many reasons why I like old horror movies a bit more than todays horror movies, most of them anyway. You see how much special fx and flashy editing are put into todays horror movie trailers.Yet "Happy Birthday To Me" was not only a great slasher flick, but also had one of the creepiest trailers that looked extremely cheap to produce.Just a birthday cake with candles,a table, some clips from the movie, and an axe.

Aren't they giving this movie a sequel?? I remember reading something on this site about a sequel being in the works or discussed. This movie certainly could use one.

Okay, maybe I'm stupid, but can someone explain what happened at the end of this movie? For some reason, I was really confused, not just at the end, either. There were some parts of this movie where I was just going, "Huh?" because they didn't explain what was going on right away - especially the scene in the bell tower. That really confused me until they explained it later on.

Elm Street NightmareI don't know. Maybe it was just bad acting, but it was mostly the scene in the bell tower that confused me at first. I'm more confused about the end though... I just don't understand why, if it wasn't Virginia, did she end up sort of going along with it...
